TECHmunch Food Conference Comes to Atlanta

On Friday, September 26th, the popular traveling food blog conference known as TECHmunch came to Atlanta for the first time. Produced by Babette Pepaj of BakeSpace and hosted by the Atlanta Food Bloggers' Society, the day-long conference featured panel discussions on the topics of:

  • Leverage Your Own Personal Brand
  • How the Pros Review Restaurants
  • How to Set Up an Editorial Calendar
  • Generating Buzz through Social Media
  • How to Take Better Food Photos
  • How to Monetize Your Content
Atlanta Food Blogger Society (AFBS) President, Denise Romeo (that's me) was the featured food blogger on the Restaurant Review panel, which also included Atlanta Journal and Constitution’s food critic John Kessler, Debbie Rosen of the Rosen Group, and Chris Hassiotis of Zagat Atlanta.

the success of TECHmunch Atlanta!
Conferees mingled and chatted during an outdoor lunch sponsored by About.com with delicious sandwiches and salads from MetroFresh along with red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles. Representatives from Hot Sugar and SimplyLush Cocktails were on hand doling out crème brûlée and melanges. And, a photo booth from Big Bad Booth was on hand to help commemorate the occasion. With an accumulation of props to play with, many wacky pictures were taken which can be seen here.

The last part of the conference was a beer tasting hosted by the event venue, Monday Night Brewing. Conference participants each received 6 tasting tickets to try the different brew flavors before packing up and heading home.

AFBS and West Egg Café hosted an “after-party” appetizer tasting which highlighted items from the restaurant’s Fall menu including butter bean hummus, wild mushroom ragu on cornmeal pancakes, and their famous pimento cheese topped with housemade bacon jam.

Special thanks to the producers, sponsors, partners, and volunteers that worked so hard to make TECHmunch Atlanta a huge success!
